Grant Applications due Jan. 15, 2008

The Vermont-New Hampshire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 2008. Applications for breast cancer and breast health programs from nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in Vermont and New Hampshire are eligible for funding.

The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing science to find the cure. The Organization runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. Our Affiliate is proud to have sent $108,450 to the Organization for research in 2007. In addition to funding research, the Affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for the medically underserved in both Vermont and New Hampshire. In 2007, we funded over $325,350 for local community programs.

Our grant cycle runs from April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2009. Eligible applications must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2008. Announcements of funding will be made on March 10, 2008.

As grants chairperson I am here to answer any questions you may have about our grants process. To help us be even better stewards of our money, please let me know if you would like to have your name removed from our mailing list if you do not feel you will be requiring these notices in the future. Please feel free to contact me by phone 802-362-2733 or email info@vtnhcure.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Terri Hathaway
